1920s Themed Gala !!!

As a final sendoff before embarking on our trip to Europe, students and teachers attended a 1920s themed gala at the Centurrion on Saturday night. Upon arrival, guests, who were dressed up to represent the roaring 20s, were greeted by beautiful harp music played by ND's Kalen Smith, enjoyed some punch, and had some fun at the photo booth. Before dinner, we had a chance to use amazing WWI displays, which had a combination of both authentic artifacts and replicas. The collections included vintage war clothing, art, scrapbooks, diaries, artillery, toiletries, and more. After a nice buffet meal, we heard various testimonies of personal connections to WWI and learned some swing dancing moves while enjoying music by a local jazz band. It was a wonderful evening and one that I hope the students bring with them as we walk in the footsteps of our fallen soldiers in Europe next week.
